Clear Air came out to do a routine maintenance and cleaning of my two units. Scheduling was easy and they communicated clearly when they’d be arriving. The technician Ulysses was friendly, efficient and thorough. He answered my questions and gave advice for maintaining the units going forward.
Teresa W.
★★★★★
Brock did a great job. He got to my house within 30 minutes of the call. It was an after hours call. He also went over the maintenance annually with me. I have used this company before and had a good experience. Of course no one likes when there HVAC is working right, but the service helped with the situation.

★★★★★
Within an hour or so of my call for help Gabriel arrived with his friendly greeting. He soon diagnosed the problem & showed us pictures of the faulty equipment. We were presented with three corrective action options with pictures of parts and quotes. Decision made, Gabriel was back to work and our A/C was put in better shape than it's been in for years.

★★★★★
Brock truly went above and beyond for us. He worked hard to find a solution, kept us informed throughout the process, and made a stressful situation much easier to handle. We greatly appreciate his dedication and excellent customer service and highly recommend Clear Air AC.

What You Gain From Servicing Your AC Every Year

An air conditioner that gets serviced every spring uses less electricity to do the same work. A clean condenser coil rejects heat the way it was designed to, and a system that is not fighting a dirty coil or a low charge draws less current every hour it runs.

Reliability is the second gain, and in this climate it is the one homeowners feel most. Nearly every emergency call we take in July traces back to something that would have been visible in April, a capacitor reading below spec, a contactor with pitted points, a drain starting to slow.

The third is equipment life. Compressors fail from running hot and running long, and both are usually consequences of poor maintenance rather than bad luck. Getting a system to the far end of its service life instead of the near end is the real return on a visit a year.

There is a comfort argument as well. A correctly charged system with clean coils and proper airflow cools the far bedroom at close to the same rate as the living room, and it pulls moisture out of the house during monsoon weeks instead of leaving it damp.

Everything We Inspect and Service on Your System

On the outdoor unit, the technician cleans the condenser coil, checks refrigerant charge against the manufacturer specification, inspects the contactor and capacitor, tests amp draw on the compressor and fan motor, and looks over the disconnect and wiring.

Indoors, the work covers the evaporator coil, the blower assembly and its amp draw, the condensate drain and pan, the air filter, and thermostat calibration. The technician also measures the temperature difference across the evaporator, which is the clearest indicator of whether the system is actually performing to spec.

Airflow and ductwork get attention too, since a system in perfect mechanical condition still underperforms if it cannot move air. Anything we find outside the scope of a maintenance visit gets explained and quoted separately rather than quietly added to the invoice.

How a Maintenance Appointment Actually Goes

A maintenance visit is a working appointment rather than a walkthrough, and it runs in this order.

Arrival and setup

The technician asks what you have noticed about the system and protects the work areas indoors.

Outdoor service

The condenser coil is cleaned and the electrical components, refrigerant charge, and motor amp draws are tested.

Indoor service

The evaporator, blower, condensate drain, filter, and thermostat are inspected and adjusted.

Performance check

Cooling output and airflow are measured to confirm the system is operating to specification.

Findings

The technician walks you through what was serviced, what is wearing, and what can wait.

Nothing outside the maintenance scope gets done without your approval. You should finish the visit knowing the condition of your system, not just that someone was here.

What Happens When AC Service Gets Put Off

Skipped maintenance does not announce itself right away. It shows up as a bill that creeps higher each summer, rooms that take longer to cool than they used to, and a system that runs a little longer every cycle.

Then it shows up all at once. A condenser coil packed with dust and monsoon debris forces the compressor to run hotter than it was designed to, and heat is what kills compressors. A slow condensate drain backs up into the pan and eventually into a ceiling. A capacitor drifting out of spec takes the fan motor with it.

None of that is unusual and none of it is dramatic. It is simply what happens to equipment running for months at a time in extreme heat when nobody looks at it.

What AC Maintenance Costs

Maintenance pricing depends on how many systems you have and whether the visit is booked on its own or as part of our Ultimate Savings Agreement membership, which is built around scheduled care across the year. Ask about the membership when you book, since it changes the math for most households.

If the technician finds something that needs repair, that work is quoted separately and only proceeds with your approval. Maintenance and repair stay on separate lines so you always know which is which. Financing through GoodLeap, Service Finance, and Contractor Commerce is available if a repair turns out to be larger than expected.

Frequently Asked Questions About AC Maintenance

How much does AC maintenance cost in Phoenix?

Pricing depends on how many systems you have and whether the visit is booked on its own or through our Ultimate Savings Agreement membership. Ask when you schedule and we will give you the figure upfront.

Once a year at minimum, ideally in spring before the cooling season starts. Systems here run far longer and hotter than in most climates, so annual service matters more than it would elsewhere.

Late winter through spring, before demand peaks. Booking in March or April means your system is ready before the first triple digit stretch, and appointment availability is much better than in July.

The technician cleans the condenser coil, checks refrigerant charge, tests electrical components and motor amp draws, inspects the evaporator, blower, drain, filter, and thermostat, and confirms the system is cooling to specification.

No. Repairs are quoted separately and only done with your approval, so maintenance and repair stay on separate lines. Your technician will explain what needs attention and what can wait.
